"Gimnazija" Student Parliament// Quiz"Like -Millioner"
for professors
And
here's another outstanding action by the "Gimnazija
Krusevac" student parliament - an original
way to promote and create better relations
between the students and the professors. The plan was the old
one - swiching sides, only this time
in a different form. "Let's see how much do the professors
really know..." was a common sentance in the school that
week - the students prepared the "hot-seat"
and a few tough questions for the professors who applied to
participate in the quiz.
The
whole event was a copy of the popular TV quiz "Who
wants to be a millionaire", with all the
stuff that goes with it. A few VIPs we're in the audience -
the mayor and his colleagues, but
the most interesting one was Ivan Zeljković,
the host of the "real", national "Who wants to
be a millionaire" quiz. "Kao-milioner"
was held in the school gym, with an audience of about 200
people, local and national TV reporters. Seven
professors had the opportunity to present their knowledge and
win prizes (T-shirts, "Marni
cafe" packs, car-cosmetics...). And, unlike the original
quiz, the first contestant already conquered the 3 million "non-dinars"
question (the currency of the show were fictional "non-dinars"
which, of course, had no value :).
One
thing that made an impression was the technical realization
- 2 video-beams were at work, one
for the questions and the other one for the camera (filming
the audience, the contestants facial expressions etc), and a
fairly good soundsystem.
This
interesting action was also the closing for the GimFest
2005, a part of the 140th school anniversary.

27.-29.05.2005.
"Gimnazija" student parliament // GimFest 2005, Yardfest
GimFest
2005 was one of the main manifestations held in the big year
of the 140th school anniversary. Organized and coordinated by
the student parliament of "Gimnazija Krusevac", with
the support of the school authorities, GimFest was a 3-day celebration
schoolyard festival.

Friday
was the "warm-up" day since
it was a working day. But that doesn't mean that it was not
interesting - Momo Kapor, the famous
poet started this "day-of-literacy"
in his chariots, which he rode through the town a little bit,
and then parked in the schoolyard, where he presented an
hour of first-class poetry. Then the professors
had their opportunity to present their work - mainly novels,
but also paintings and photos.
Saturday
was the "day-of-fun" and
the Creative Fair was the one to open
it. This was the opportunity for the students to show their
talent and creativity- the school bands, solo-singers
and comedians occupied the stage, while the "material"
artists had their stands. You could encounter
everything - all kinds of rock, hip-hop and electronic
music, then handmade jewelry, bags,
boxes, medival weapons and clothes, Warhammer pawns, paintings,
photos... It was nice to see how the gathered
artists made contact, talked about collaborating
(especially the musicians), and above all had great fun.
The
whole event has gathered up a big crowd of passerbys, and was
covered by all local TV stations.
And it was pretty interesting to see people from other high-schools
visiting the Fair- this event actually made them think of organizing
similar activities in their schools.
The
"day-of-fun" continued at about 10 pm,
when the schoolyard hosted a big open-air party
with a famous Belgrade DJ Blue from Love Nation
DJ Team. More than 400 people
danced wildly in the rhythm of todays popular electronic music.
The estimated number of all people who visited the party was
600 to 700. A nice suprise for Krusevac
:).
We can also say that the party was pretty high-tech
for what people in Krusevac are used to - under the influence
of high quality soundsystem and light effects,
hundreds of people enjoyed the video-beam show
(which consisted of a photo slideshow, with pictures from excursions,
the mask-party, classes, celebrations etc. and nice effects
presented by the Winamp Milkdrop plugin :)
.
The atmosphere was great, with no incidents. The students had
to thank their sponsors ("Weifert" bier
factory and "Educational Centre") for
that.

Sunday
was a little more
quiet than the previous day - the school theater
play "Family stories" ("Porodične
priče"), featured by the "Gimnazija"
student actor team, was held in front of an audience of 100
people. Once again, this play has shown the quality
of the local actor school. Then the visitors had
the opportunity to watch an amateur movie
filmed, featured and produced by a dozen of "Gimnazija"
students - "Biotop"
is a story of superheros, supervillans, rockstars and other
interesting characters. It is a comedy
based upon famous films such as "The Matrix"
and "The Predator". The
event also included a 24 hour photoshow with
pictures from previous actions, excursions and previous days
of the festival.
The
whole festival was a part of the 140th school anniversary,
and therefore, the Gimnazija high-school parliament had great
support from the school authorities.
But
this was not the end of GimFest, because next friday (June 3rd),
the students organized something that was originally ment to
occur on Friday the 27th- check out the previous article.
