Representatives of Educational center participated on the SEEYN Assembly session (November 02nd-06th), in Veliko Trnovo (Bulgaria). SEEYN is made of 17 NGO’s-full righted and one joined member from South East European region. EC got full civil rights membership on the last Assembly, which took place in Krusevac.

On Friday (28.10.2005.) ten volunteers of EC participated in realization of the action “Travel-Change” in SEEYN organization. The aim of the action was promoting volunteer youth activities-volunteer work camps, volunteer exchange…In realization of this action participated volunteers of Belgrade centre for human rights, Young researches of Serbia, Volunteer centre Vojvodina and Educational center.

During October, two debates in Debating club organization, took place. The debate on the theme “State should induce organ donation” was held in Grammar school, and in Technical school, the debate on the theme “Death punishment should be introduced”. Both debates provoked great interest of pupils and teachers, and Debating club plans to organize another 8 debates in high schools in Krusevac and Trstenik during November.

On Thursday (22.09.2005.) in Cultural Centre Krusevac, the Exhibition of caricatures and aphorisms on the theme “Employment without political connections” took place. 38 caricatures and 35 aphorisms, which came on the concurs from 18 countries of Europe and Asia were showed. After the exhibition the film from Luis Bunuel “Phantom of freedom” was shown. The exhibition was a part of the project “European union is not a member of your political party”. The vision of this project was making standards of equal chances through professionalism of institutions and complete protection of citizens from political parties discrimination, as great factors in keeping stability of the region and complete including of SEE region in EU integration.

On Saturday (17.09.2005) a workshop for the representatives of School parliaments of seven high schools from Krusevac took place. This is the first in raw of the workshops, which will take place during this school year. During the workshop recapitulation of former activities on the field of development of school parliaments in high schools in Krusevac, was done and the action plan for the future period was made. Continuation of the project will be realized in association with Norwegian People's aid SEE.

Debating club

On Sunday (18.09.2005.) the first meeting of the Debating club in a new school year took place. The issue of the meeting was gathering present and admission the new members of Debating club. During the meeting a presentation of Karl Poper debate was made, teams was formed and preparation for realizing ten Public debates during October and November was made.

Announcement of events

On Thursday (22.09.2005.) in KCK (Cultural center of Krusevac) an exhibition of caricatures and aphorisms on the subject "Employment without political connection" took place. The exhibition is a part of project "European union is not a member of your political party". After the exhibition the film "Phantom of liberty" by Luis Bunuel will be emitted.

Celebration - Five years of existence of "Educational center Krusevac".

Educational center was formed in July 2000. by group of citizens of Krusevac, with the vision of developed civil society, which respect and protect the right of all citizens. We still have the same vision, same enthusiasm and wish to change society and ourselves. After five years of working we've realized numbers projects, actions, departments, journeys and lot of friends and associates we gained.
This 2005. we celebrated five years of existence in our new office with our members, volunteers, friends and associates from different organizations, institutions...
On that accession we thanked to all who have supported us since the foundation till today. Special gratitude and recognition Educational center owes to all it’s member and volunteers.

7-10.7.2005. "Gimnazija" parliament members at EXIT festival

"Citizens Pact for South-Eastern Europe" and "State of Exit" have again organized an NGO stage at EXIT festival this year. The NGO stage called"Place to Move!" gathered 70 of the strongest Balkan NGO's - suprisingly one of the the participants was the "Gimnazija Krusevac" High-school parliament, which had their stand together with JAZAS, VCV and other well-known NGO's from the region.
The Gimnazija parliament members presented their activities and projects and handed out flyers (their own and flyers of Educational Centre). Apart from having a lot of fun during this 4 day festival, they have also made important and possibly very productive contacts with several NGO's from Serbia.
EXIT festival is actually a music festival that was started by an NGO called "State of Exit" back in 2000 as a protest against Milosevic and his regime. Ever since then it has grown, and evolved to be one of the Top 10 European music festivals - with 23 music stages, all kinds of music (from electronic and rock, to classical and ethno music) and different art such as comics, movies, painting, with MTV "Free Your Mind" and "End Trafficking & Exploitation" campaign, NGO stage etc. More than 150 000 people from all over the world visited EXIT this year, and enjoyed the magnificent atmosphere and scenery of the Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad (where the festival was held) listening to Fatboy Slim, Underworld, Slayer, Garbage, Carl Cox, Dave Clarke etc

23.06.2005. SEEYLI 2005

Three of our activists will participate in South-East Europe Youth Leadership Institute (SEEYLI) this year, which is a record for Krusevac. This one month-long program will be held on Wake Forest University (North Carolina) and Towson University (Maryland) in USA, with workshops in Courts, Media, Community Health, Ethical Leadership, a Debate training and excursions to Washington D.C., New York, Baltimore etc. Nevena Karalic and Nenad Spuzic are this years participants, and Nikola Stojic is a Junior Staff Member (all EC activists, from Krusevac). Nikola Stojic was a SEEYLI 2003 participant. Each of the participating countries (Albania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Romania, Montenegro, Serbia and Kosovo) is represented by 12 participants.

22.04.2005. "5 minutes of our own" - unified action of the local high-school parliaments in Kruševac

The aim of the action was to improve relations between the students and professors, and to let these parted sides to experience the other one's position and role. Thats why they switched places - students became professors and school management. The professors were sitting in students desks, learning and beeing tested by their "followers".

The atmosphere was funny and above all educational through the whole day, but still with a sufficient dose of serious work.

Nenad in Italy!

Our volunteer Nenad Milanović finally arrived in Italy. For the following six months he is going to work in Civitas Solis organization.
Longterm volunteering enables youth to work on various volunteer projects which contribute to the local communities and organizations. The projects include different types of activities, such as work with children, people with special needs, in gerontology centers etc. enviromental, cultural, art or office work.

Nenad will help organizing the activities of the "Youth-club" in Gioiosa Jonica, Calabria. We were sure that he was going to find his way well, but he overcame our expectations.
